Topics/Call fo Papers

In all these years, multimedia research and development have succeeded to offer users increasingly diverse services at higher quality levels by engaging two of the human senses only: sight and hearing. However, important findings from psychological and neuroscience research, as well as technological advances responsible for increased diversity of devices with higher computational power and communication capabilities, augmented by various sensor and display technologies have enabled targeting other human senses for further enhancing user experience. Multimedia is slowly but surely evolving by considering and integrating media components to affect all senses, including tactile, olfaction, and gustatory. This integration of multiple senses leads to a paradigm shift towards a new multiple sensorial media (MulSeMedia) multi-modal experience, opening also new and exciting challenges and opportunities in research and development in both industry and academia. This special session solicits contributions dealing with Multisensory experiences in many related areas. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following:
Multi-Sensory Experiences QoE evaluation (subjective, objective, online vs offline)
Multi-Sensory sensor and display devices
Multi-Sensory Integration
Multi-Sensory Experiences and Virtual Reality
Multi-Sensory Experiences and Mixed Augmented Reality
Multi-Sensory Transmission and delivery (QoS)
