In the past few years Computational Intelligence has become one of the main research topics at the Széchenyi István University. The first five Győr Symposia on Computational Intelligence have been successfully organized in 2008 to 2012. The aim of the sixth Symposium is to bring again together scientists and engineers working in the field of computational intelligence and connecting areas like smart offices. We mention that the best full papers will be published in an edited Springer volume or in a special issue of a renowned International Journal. Venue
Győr (Jaurinum in Latin) is situated half way between Budapest and Vienna, at the junction of the rivers Moson-Danube, Rába and Rábca. In the Roman Times there was a significant settlement here called Arrabona. The founder of the modern Hungarian State, King St. Stephen around 1000 A.D. declared it a bishopric and a bailiffric. The monuments of the historical inner city are mainly from the Baroque period. The city has always been a commercial centre at the crossing of important roads, railways and rivers. In the last century it became the second important industrial centre of Hungary (vehicle, machine, textile, food and building industries). Today the city has a population of about 140,000 and, due to its geographical situation, favourable infrastructure and human capital, it is the centre of the most prosperous region in Hungary after Budapest.
