PAEE’2010
2nd Ibero-American Symposium on Project Approaches in Engineering Education
“Creating Meaningful Learning Environments”
1 - 2 July 2010, Barcelona, Polytechnic University of Catalunya
Call for Papers
Dear Colleagues,
After a successful first edition in Guimarães last year, it is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the 2nd PAEE Symposium at the Polytechnic University of Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain. The Department of Production and Systems (DPS) and the Research Centre for Education (CIEd) of the University of Minho are organising the symposium in cooperation with the Curriculum Development Working Group of the European Society for Engineering Education (SEFI) to join teachers, researchers on Engineering Education, deans of Engineering Schools and professionals concerned with Engineering Education, to enhance Project Approaches in Engineering Education through workshops and discussion of current practice and research. The symposium is a parallel event of CIDUI 2010, the International Congress of University Teaching and Innovation.
The programme has a strong workshop component, aiming to encourage discussion of current practice and research on project approaches.
We are especially honoured to have inspiring keynote speakers: Anette Kolmos (Chair holder for the UNESCO chair in PBL, SEFI President, Aalborg University) and José Manuel Oliveira (University of Aveiro, Portugal).
PAEE especially welcomes submissions that focus on the following issues:
? Designing problems and learning environments
? Preparing teachers and students for a project approach
? Assessment of student learning in projects
? Learning in teams
? Partnerships with business
? Interdisciplinarity
? Transversal competencies in project work
? Experiences in Engineering Education
? Project approaches and ICT support
? Research on project approaches
? The role of the tutor
The deadline for the submission of extended abstracts is 15 April 2010. More information is available on the conference website http://paee.dps.uminho.pt/.
We are looking forward to welcome you in Barcelona in July 2010!
