Sapporo
The fifth-largest city in Japan, Sapporo is on the Japan's northernmost island, Hokkaido, the showcase of stunning natural landscape extending over scenic coastal areas, dramatic mountain ranges and the mysterious lakes and volcanoes. August is the best season to visit the city known for low humidity in summer. Conveniently situated close to the city of Sapporo, New Chitose Airport (CTS) has regular international flights from Seoul, Hong Kong, Taipei, Shanghai, Beijing and Guam, as well as connecting flights via Japan's main international airports at Narita, Nagoya, and Kansai.
Optical MEMS and Nanophotonics 2010 will be held in Sapporo Covention Center http://www.sora-scc.jp/english.php
