Topics/Call fo Papers

The burgeoning social networks (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, etc.) have changed the ways of web information production and consumption. The social network becomes an online tool of managing real-world social relations, as well as a platform of publishing, interchanging, and sharing information. Analyzing social networks would greatly contribute to national security, social management, and business and marketing. Hence, this field has gained more and more attention and many novel research challenges recently arise. This workshop focuses on analyzing social networks (especially the structures of the networks, the information flowing through the networks, and the groups being active on the networks). The goal of the workshop is to bring together researchers and developers in the field of social network analysis to identify current research foci, exchange research ideas and results, and encourage the development of social network analysis tools. This workshop is also intended for communicating and presenting the research sponsored by the 973 research project on the fundamental theories of social network analysis and information propagation.
