IWLSCM 2014 - The 2014 International Workshop on Logistics and Supply Chain Management (IWLSCM2014)
Topics/Call fo Papers
Logistics and supply chains are an integral part of our every day life and influences
more than ever a large number of human and economic activities. The domain of
logistics and supply chain activities are providing the customers of the system with
the right product, in the right place, at the right time. Since major changes in products,
processes, technologies, and societies bring along remarkable challenges, the
management of logistics systems and supply chains in today’s fierce competition
environment is a difficult task and has become more and more complex. Modeling
and optimization of the complex problems arising in logistics systems and supply
chains is of paramount importance in surviving and achieving competitive gains in
productivity and quality.
In recent years, the advancements in computer science and optimization have
allowed researchers to tackle complex problems and to develop and integrate efficient
optimization techniques for solving them. Within this context, the workshop on
Logistics and Supply Chain Management aims at addressing issues related to the
modeling, design, planning, control, and continuous improvement of logistics systems
and supply chains using computational intelligence and optimization techniques. The
intention is to seek some high-quality papers presenting current state of the art in
using computational intelligence and optimizations techniques for logistics and supply
chain management from researchers and practitioners. Studies incorporating
real-world applications are highly encouraged.
