The Biggest Business Opportunities for the Plastics Industry - PlastIndia 2015 Opens its Doors
Frankfurt, 10th February, 2014: PlastIndia Foundation formally announced PlastIndia 2015 (PI 2015) Exhibition from 5-10 February 2015 to be held at Gandhinagar, Gujarat with the rousing tagline of ‘Expanding Horizons’. The ninth edition of the exhibition was unveiled at an inaugural function attended by stalwarts of the industry.
Plastindia 2015, which is slated to be the top three international platforms for the Plastics Industry, was formally launched by Mr. Avinash Joshi, IAS, Joint Secretary - Petrochemicals Division, Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemical and Fertilizers - Government of India in the presence of the Guest of Honor, Mr. Nirmal Thakkar, first President of PlastIndia Foundation (PIF) and Chairman of Tipco Industries. Dignitaries on the dais included Mr. Subhash Kadakia, President PIF, Mr. J.R. Shah, Chairman, National Executive Council (NEC), Mr. L. K. Singh, Co-Chairman, NEC, Mr. Rajeev Chitalia, Vice President PIF and Mr. Rajiv Raval, Honorable Treasurer, PIF.
PI 2015 is targeted to be the largest till date and expected to consolidate its position as one of the world’s largest ‘plastics only’ exhibitions. Expected to bring together about 150,000 business visitors and 2000 top class exhibitors from across 40 nations at a showcase extending across 125,000 sq. mts, this will truly be a remarkable platform and opportunity for the plastics industry. A stunning bouquet of associated offerings will make PI 2015 a ‘must not miss’ affair for global plastics fraternity.
Mr. Vijay Merchant hosted the official launch function, where he addressed and assured the august gathering that PI 2015 will be even bigger and better. PI 2015 was officially launched with the auspicious lighting of the lamp by all the dignitaries on the dais. Mr. Rajiv Raval welcomed all the distinguished guest and dignitaries.
Describing PI 2015 as the largest single business opportunity of 2015, Mr. Subhash Kadakia said that the exhibition would significantly expand the business horizons of all those who participate, regardless of their origin and business size, due to the sheer volume of opportunity that it would showcase and the quantum of learning’s that would be available to one and all. Mr. Avinash Joshi, after unveiling the logo of PI 2015 said, “the Industry has unlimited potential to be a world leader if it continues to believe in itself as it has done so far. PI 2015 would bring in a lot of opportunity to the various stakeholders as it will be among the biggest in the world.”
Mr. Sunil Jain of Rajoo Engineers delivered a message on behalf of Mr. Mahendra Patel, Chairman of the National Advisory Board (NAB) for PI 2015; stressing on the continuous endeavours and hard work put in towards the success of the exhibition for the last 25 years and readiness to work towards making PI 2015 a grand success.
Mr. J. R. Shah elaborated, “Plastindia 2015 is expected to be the biggest than the previous editions’ He also unveiled the events to be hosted concurrently- 4th Proplast, the finished/processed plastics products exhibition that will demonstrate the ever enhancing global standard capabilities of India’s plastics processing industry, 9th International Conference on Plastics, 24th ASEAN Plastics Forum, 6th Plasticon Awards, the Wiintech Technology Transfer initiative as well as numerous B2B meets on investment, finance, knowledge sharing etc.
Mr. Nirmal Thakkar mesmerized the audience with his captivating speech as he reminiscenced the hurdles faced by the Indian plastic industry in the 1980’s, even as he noted that the current scenario has changed, along with priorities. He further added that today’s entrepreneurs have unlimited opportunities to conduct business. He appreciated the interest infused and innovations introduced by the younger generation. Mr. Rajeev Chitalia honored Mr. Thakkar with a memento. Finally the vote of thanks was given by Mr. L. K. Singh, as he updated the audience of commencement of booth space booking that met with confirmed bookings on Day 1.
