AM 2012 - Special Session Advanced Materials
Topics/Call fo Papers
Advanced Materials
The intended focus of this session is the synthesis, application of advanced materials, i.e., materials that are used for their superior mechanical properties. All materials are considered, i.e., metal, alloys, composites, ceramics and polymers. One of the main objectives of this session is also to present and discuss the main points related to the advanced materials that used in high temperature applications, such as Ti-alloys, Ni-super alloys and Ni-Ti shape memory alloys. Summarizing, the topic is very broad and includes all possibilities to improve existing materials regarding their mechanical and physical properties. The topics will include, but are not limited to the following:
Microstructure and mechanical properties of advanced materials
Metals and alloys
Advanced materials
Materials for high temperature applications
Thermomechanical treatments
Composite materials
Synthesis of materials for mechanical, corrosion and wear properties
Organizers
Bakr M. Rabeeh, Prof. Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, German University in Cairo.
Brando Okolo, Prof. Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, German University in Cairo.
Abdel Hamid Ahmed Hussein, Prof. of Metallurgy, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University.
Khaled M. Ibrahim, PhD, TU-Berlin, A. Prof. of advanced materials, Manufacturing Technology Dept., CMRDI, Cairo-Egypt.
Alber A. Sadek, Prof., Head of welding Technology Lab., Manufacturing Technology Dept., CMRDI, Cairo-Egypt.
Yasser Fouad, PhD, Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, German University in Cairo.Paper Submission
Papers should be submitted electronically. For further details, please consult the conference paper submission web page. When you submit your paper, please select “SS-5: Advanced Materials” from the “Topics” list in the submission page. All articles will undergo a rigorous review process. Accepted papers will be published in the conference memory stick and on the IEEE Xplore.
