RASAN 2012 - Special Session Recent Advances on Sensor and Actor Networks
Topics/Call fo Papers
Recent Advances on Sensor and Actor Networks
In recent years, Sensor and Actor Network (SANET) research has received an increasing amount of attention from researchers in academia, government laboratories and industry. This research activity has borne some fruit in tackling some of the challenging problems of SANET that are still open. This special session will be designated for reporting recent research results in sensor and actor networks, their challenging problems and their applicability to many pertinent areas of industrial and commercial importance such as security and surveillance, environment monitoring, industrial process control, pipeline monitoring, humanitarian demining, health care and home intelligence. Topics include but are not limited to:
Sensor and actor network architectures
Self-organization in sensor and actor networks
Sensors localization
Strategic sensor placement
Mobile sensor deployment
Task allocation in sensor and actor networks
Multi-sensor management
Sensor-actor coordination and actor-actor coordination
Cooperative object/event detection and tracking
Multi-sensor data fusion
Hard and soft data fusion
Sensor network security
Intelligent sensors
Interoperability and accessibility in sensor and actor networks
Organizers
Alaa Khamis, PhD, SMIEEE, Associate Editor of International Journal of Robotics and Automation
Rabie Ramadan, PhDPaper Submission
Papers should be submitted electronically. For further details, please consult the conference paper submission web page. When you submit your paper, please select “SS-1: Recent Advances on Sensor and Actor Networks ” from the “Topics” list in the submission page. All articles will undergo a rigorous review process. Accepted papers will be published in the conference CDROM and on the IEEE Xplore. Extended version of accepted papers will be recommended for publication in a special issue of International Journal of Robotics and Automation about Sensor and Actor Networks.
