GWSN 2012 - Special Sessions on Green Wireless Sensor Networks (GWSN'12)
Topics/Call fo Papers
Typically, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) represent a significant technology attracting research interests from various disciplines.
Sensors and sensor networks have an essencial impact in meeting environmental challenges.
Green WSNs decreased energy usage by the overall network as well as its actual application that permits environmental information to be contextually presented and
communicated with concerned urban community as well as decision makers. WSN applications in multiple fields such as environmental monitoring, smart buildings, ubiquitous living spaces, green technology, telecommunications, and smart industrial process control significantly contribute to more efficient use of resources.
Generalization of soft computing concept for the embedded, distributed, adaptive systems represented in WSNs plays an essencial role for information processing in complex wireless sensor environments with uncertain, imprecise, fuzzy measuring data. For example, applying a combination of embedded fuzzy logic and artificial neural networks models as neuro-fuzzy systems in WSNs for information processing utilizes soft computing approach to increase performance of WSNs and makes them more intelligent considering cost-effective usage of resources.
The goal of this special session is to gather people from academia and industry for discussing the most emerging issues and future challenges in the area of WSNs. Moreover, it aims at providing a scientific forum for researchers, engineers, system designers, and students
to present and discuss recent advances in the areas of energy saving, environmental monitoring, intelligent environments, and Soft-computing based green technology.
