The 3rd Workshop on Ultra Performance and
Dependable Acceleration Systems

30th Nov.- 2nd Dec. 2011

held in conjunction with ICNC'11
Osaka, Japan

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

The latest accelerators and emerging many-core architectures are very exciting hardware components because of their potential for drastic performance improvement on ultra performance systems. To achieve their peak performance, not only their hardware architectures but also software aspects of computational model, operating system, middleware and support tools play important roles. Moreover, dependability is a challenging issue for ultra performance systems and complicated systems with accelerators.

In this workshop, we focus on state-of-the-art issues of hardware architecture, system software, operating system and other related topics for the ultra performance systems and computer systems with accelerators. This workshop welcomes paper submissions about state-of-the-art research, practical implementations, benchmarking of ultra performance and dependable acceleration systems.

Topics of particular interest include, but are not limited to:

Accelerators for high-performance computing
Program distribution to accelerators
Multi/many-core architecture for accelerating computation
Dependable environment on accelerators
Operating systems for accelerators
Programming support tools and programming models for accelerators
Benchmarks for performance and dependability of parallel programming
Embedded systems with accelerating architectures
Practical implementations with accelerating architectures
Network on chip for accelerating architectures
The workshop also aims at providing a forum for researchers and engineers from academia and industry, as well as work-in-progress papers or case studies related to the issues.
