2012 - Workshop on Cost, Reliability, Energy Requirements and Constraints in Next Generation Networks
Topics/Call fo Papers
Workshop on Cost, Reliability, Energy Requirements and Constraints in Next
Generation Networks.
International Conference on Computing, Networking and Communications
(ICNC 2012)
Maui, Hawaii, Jan. 30 ? Feb. 2, 2012

Workshop Chair and Co-chair: Assoc. Prof. Jens Myrup Pedersen, Asst. Prof. M. Tahir Riaz
Email: jens-AT-es.aau.dk, Email: tahir-AT-es.aau.dk
Workshop Co-chair:
Scope and Topics
Communication and Data networks are becoming essential in our professional and personal lives.
Implicitly, the consequences of failures, errors, or malfunction of these networks may cause dramatic
economic or social impacts.
Several types of networks from Optical Transport Network to Personal Area Network (PAN) that now are
already recognized to play a key role in a near future, must be conceived to support future high
demanding requirements in order to reach the QoS standards. NGN should succeed not only in failure
support but also, energy aware and efficient and economically realistic.
This workshop will bring together researchers in the fields of network planning, design and managements
to present their in relation to quantification, evaluation, and improvement to cost, reality and energy
parameter in Next Generation Networks. The topics of the workshop include in, but are not limited to:
? Reliability in wireless and wired networks
? Protection and Restoration
? Cost models for deployment of wireless and wired networks
? Energy efficiency in Optical
? Energy efficiency in Sensors and Mobile Networks
? Performance evaluation in Multi-hop Networks
? Internet of Things
