Call for Papers, Tutorials, and Special Tracks
The 14th International Symposium on Visual Computing (ISVC 2019), will be held at the Harrah's Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino in Lake Tahoe, Nevada/California, USA, October 7-9, 2019. ISVC provides a common forum for researchers, scientists, engineers and practitioners to present their latest research findings, ideas, developments and applications in visual computing. In particular, ISVC seeks papers contributing to the state of the art and practice in the four main areas of visual computing: (1) computer vision, (2) computer graphics, (2) visualization and (4) virtual reality. Of particular interest are papers that combine ideas from two or more areas.
The symposium consists of invited and contributed presentations dealing with all aspects of visual computing. In addition, it includes six keynote presentations, several tutorials and special tracks, and a poster session. The symposium's proceedings are published by Springer-Verlag in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series. Information on abstracting and indexing of the LNCS series can be found on the ISVC website. A "best paper” award will also be sponsored by Springer-Verlag.
Important Dates
(All deadlines are at 11:59PM Pacific Daylight Time)
Tutorial & Special Track Proposals: May 20, 2019
Tutorial & Special Track Notifications: May 27, 2019
Paper submissions: July 15, 2019
Notification of acceptance August 19, 2019
Final camera ready paper: September 6, 2019
Advance Registration: September 6, 2019
ISVC Hotel Reservation: September 13, 2019
ISVC’19 Symposium: October 7-9, 2019
Tutorials and Special Tracks
Proposals are invited for tutorials and special tracks on topics relevant to ISVC. Tutorials should address the interests of various individuals in the field of visual computing including graduate students, researchers and educators from academia, and researchers and practitioners from industry and government. Special tracks are intended to stimulate in-depth discussions in special areas relevant to the symposium theme. All papers accepted for presentation in a special track will be published in the symposium proceedings.
Submission Procedure
This is a fully refereed symposium. Papers submitted to ISVC must not be currently under consideration for publication in another conference. Each paper will receive 2-3 blind reviews and should not contain names or other information revealing authors’ identity. Papers will be reviewed with an emphasis on potential to contribute to the state of the art in the field. Selection criteria include accuracy and originality of ideas, clarity and significance of results, and presentation quality. Papers should be submitted in camera-ready format. The length should match that intended for final publication (visit the ISVC website for submission details).
Attendance
ISVC is a premier forum for presenting and discussing current research in visual computing. At least one author of each accepted paper must complete the symposium registration, attend the symposium in person, and present the paper. If none of the authors of a paper can attend the symposium and present their paper(s) due to unforeseen reasons, they should contact the steering committee chair as soon as possible so that substitute arrangements can be made. It is also suggested that they make arrangements with another ISVC attendee to present their paper(s). Video or Skype presentations are not acceptable.
