New Interfaces for Musical Expression, also known as NIME, is an international conference dedicated to scientific research on the development of new technologies and their role in musical expression and artistic performance.
The conference started as a workshop in 2001 and, since then, has been held annually around the world. The 19th edition of NIME will be hosted at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
In 2019, the event will hold lectures, installations, concerts and workshops. Researchers and musicians from all over the world will gather to share their knowledge and late-breaking work on new musical interface design.
