The Sharjah International Conference on Nuclear and Renewable Energy "Energies for the 21st Century (SHJ-NRE11)" aims to present advances and future scientific and technological directions in nuclear and renewable energies that promise to provide efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly sources of energy.rSHJ-NRE11 will bring together a number of leading scientists, engineers and technology specialists in the nuclear and renewable energy fields from around the globe to present their latest findings and to shed light on future scientific and technological directions. The conference will also serve as an international forum for the exchange of ideas and views on the educational and training programs aimed at preparing and developing the human resources required for the energy industry in the future. Finally, the conference will provide an opportunity for discussions among policy and decision makers on the various regulatory, public and social issues associated with the deployment and applications of nuclear and renewable technologies in the UAE and the Gulf Region. rrThe conference will be held at the University of Sharjah, which is located in the Emirate of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. In addition to its deep historical roots and its magnificent and scenic geography, the Emirate of Sharjah is a major centre for culture, education, trade and tourism. The Emirate is the home to many outstanding academic institutions, cultural organizations and unique museums. The University of Sharjah is the leading and by far the most comprehensive academic institution in the United Arab Emirates, boasting 14 colleges, world class facilities and scenic campus sites with distinctive architectural style and captivating landscape.
