The Fourth International Workshop on Ad Hoc,
Sensor and P2P Networks AHSP2011
At Tokyo Japan, March 25, 2011.
This workshop will be held in conjunction with the 10th International Symposium on Autonomous
Decentralized Systems ISADS 2011, http://www.isads2011.info.hiroshima-cu.ac.jp/.
Important Dates
Paper Submission Due: October 24, 2010 (Extended)
Acceptance Notification : November 30, 2010
Camera-Ready Paper Due: December 31, 2010
Scope of the conference
The recent growth of high speed wired/wireless access and LANs, functional wireless terminals such as
netbooks or smart phones, and cost-effective sensor/tag devices increasingly stimulate the emergence of
user-centric network services collecting and exploiting user-provided data. Examples of them are monitoring
and notification system of children or elderly people using sensor data, user-provided broadcast services such
as “ustream”, etc. In order that the networks support these services in the flexible and scalable manners,
multihop/relay technique involving user terminals will play a key role. From this perspective, mobile ad hoc
and mesh networks, sensor networks and P2P networks have been attracting much attention.
These networks typically consist of equal nodes without any central control, and they have many similar
research issues as autonomous decentralized systems. Distributed topology management, resource
management and routing are common research challenges in all these networks. In sensor networks,
many-to-one routing constrained by batteries lead to an important research topic. In P2P networks,
distributed caching and QoS delivery is one of key topics to achieve scalability in large networks. The objective
of this Workshop is to discuss new approaches and technologies in the field of ad hoc and mesh networks,
sensor networks and P2P networks through papers. Particularly, we welcome papers describing protocol
designs or performance evaluations both from theoretical and practical aspects, or describing observations
and findings from practical experiments.
Suggested topics include but are not limited to the followings:
・Network configuration and topology management
・Medium access control for resource management
・Power management
・Scalable and robust routing
・Quality of services QoS delivery
・Mobility models and location management, location based services
・Cross-layer design and interaction
・Constructing, operating, and experimenting a test-bed
・Design of practical application systems
with respect to ad hoc networks, sensor networks, P2P networks.
