4th World Conference on Production & Operations Management: P&OM Amsterdam 2012
Theme: Serving the world
Main Conference: July 1-4, 2012
Doctoral Consortium: JunDoctoral Consortium: JunDoctoral Consortium: JunDoctoral Consortium: June 29 - 30, 2012 Welcome Reception: July 1 & Optional Excursion, July 5 NOTE: This conference is also the Annual EurOMA conference for 2012 In 2012, the Production and Operations Management World Conference (P&OM Amsterdam 2012) will return to Europe, after having had its previous European conference in 2000 in Sevilla. Ever since the 17th century, the low countries (currently Netherlands and Belgium) have had an international and open orientation based on trade. Still now, these countries are at the heart of many global operations, with a strong presence in both (physical) supply chain and (financial) services. This hub role in many global activities and its focus to conduct operations in a sustainable manner, make it the ideal place to meet in the prime worldwide conference in production and operations management. The city is easy to get around, so you can explore on your lunch break and be back in plenty of time for the afternoon sessions. You can travel on foot or by bicycle easily and safely, at night as well as during the day. Amsterdam's canals offer another way to see the city-take it easy and embark on one of the many canal cruises, or be adventurous and peddle your way around on a water bike. Be sure to make time for art and history-the Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum and Anne Frank House are just three of the world-class sites for which Amsterdam is famous.
