Alternatif Politika (The Journal of Alternative Politics) is pleased to announce a special issue with a focus on Feminist International Relations.
This special issue invites articles that focus on the main assumptions and contributions of feminist International Relations (IR) theories (including liberal, socialist, constructivist, critical, postsructural and postcolonial feminist) to our understanding of international relations. We also encourage submissions that push the theorization of feminist IR in new directions.
We particularly welcome articles that discuss the ways in which feminist IR theory expose, criticize and reconstruct the gendered foundations and concepts of “malestream” IR theory. We also invite papers that use gender as a category of analysis in their studies of “real-world” events in international relations. We welcome articles that are situated within feminist IR that include (but are not limited to) studies focusing on feminist reformulations of foundational concepts of IR (e.g. security, war, state, sovereignty, militarism, foreign policy), feminist analysis of the gendered nature of the global economy (feminization of work, poverty and migration in neo-liberal globalization) and analysis of gender mainstreaming and international organizations, and diffusion of global gender norms.
Articles can address theoretical discussions as well as specific case studies from the region or country.
All submissions will be reviewed by two referees.
Deadline for submissions is May 15, 2017.
Manuscripts can be submitted via email to marbodur-AT-gmail.com
