Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design & Manufacturing (IIITDM), Jabalpur and Indian Institute of Technology Delhi jointly organize a National Conference on Smart Cities-2016 on 25-26 November 2016 at Jabalpur. This opens up a forum for discussing issues and challenges of emerging landscape of urban e-society.
Smart city innovations are new approaches to holistic management of cities’ physical, socio-economic, environmental, transportation and political assets across all urban domains, typically supported by ICT and open data. After Government of India (GoI) announcement of developing 100 smart cities across the country, issues around being discussed now. Smart cities are sustainable with a high quality of life and economic performance. To achieve this, requires a shared vision of all stake holders -citizens, public and private organizations and many others. This conference promises to be an invigorating confluence of the best brains from the academia and the industry. Assured industry participation and most importantly, key government officers and NGO/ community volunteers have guaranteed strong representation of the user community. The deliberation would include experts and scholarship on Smart technologies, their applications, strategies, and policies for the betterment of quality of life in cities.
