Overview:
Getting people to become involved in meetings is both a science and an art. Isn't it true that many people leading meetings attempt to gain the participants' buy-in by singularly providing information and hoping people will respond in some supportive way? It is a painful experience when a meeting leader looks back and recognizes his or her meeting led only to apathy, side conversations, looks of boredom, and fair to poor follow-on support. Yet many people leading departments, teams, task forces or other types of groups are not sure how to approach people in any other way. The problem is that in many cases groups simply are not responding with polite acceptance and total buy-in; they are too busy for that. Now what?
This program centers on the "Now what?" question by providing
Twelve tools to use to create group involvement during meetings
How to deal with a variety of problem situations typically encountered when facilitating a group
They will learn how to respond to the most difficult situations and the most challenging people. Special emphasis is paid to the art of recognizing not only the "what" of a meeting but the "how" of expert facilitation.
Why should you attend: Ask any employee from throughout Corporate America, from any non-profit organization, or from any municipal, governmental or military organization what they think about attending meetings, and what do you think is the most common reply? Right - most adults who attend poorly facilitated meeting report dissatisfaction, frustration, or even anger when asked their view about how well meetings are facilitated where they work. Poorly facilitated meetings lead to a number of problems including lack of goal clarity, peer coordination or collaboration, and in some cases interpersonal relationship problems.
The good news lies in the application of essential group facilitation techniques by the meeting leader, and an understanding of group dynamics by all attendees. This webinar focuses on key facilitation techniques and group dynamics essentials that can benefit not only the meeting leader, but all meeting members. More good news - the skills discussed at this webinar transfer to one's personal and home life as well.
