AGUESN 2010 - Sensor Networks: From Sensors to the Web (AGUESN 2010)
Topics/Call fo Papers
The American Geophysical Union conferences bring together expertise from the sensor networks and Geoscience communities. We run a sub-conference as part of the Earth and Space Sciences Informatics (ESSI). This series was founded and run by Kirk Martinez and Jane Hart.
2004: Environmental Sensor Networks
2005: Emerging Technology for Environmental Sensor Networks
2006: Advances in Environmental Sensor Networks
2007: Environmental Sensor Networks: Theory and Applications
2008: Environmental Sensor Networks: Real World Examples
2009: Sensing Networking and fusing the data
2010: Sensor Networks: From Sensors to the Web
This is the seventh year of a specific American Geophysical Union Session on Environmental Sensor Networks - themed this year to include the whole chain from sensor to web data. http://users.ecs.soton.ac.uk/km/agu/
Sensor networks and supporting cyber infrastructure have an exciting role to play in our understanding and management of the natural environment. End-to-end field-to-web sensor systems are just beginning to be developed and deployed. The aim of this session is to look at the whole system; from the sensors, through communications to the web. Each of these steps has its own challenges, as well as the overall problem of system integration. We aim to showcase working examples of fully integrated sensor networks from a range of environments (e.g. marine, glacial, fluvial, soils, volcanic, habitat) and discuss the recent advances and challenges in this exciting new research.
This conference presents an ideal opportunity for interdisciplinary exchange and is usually attended by geo-scientists as well as wireless sensor networks researchers and developers
