SCT 2016 - Special Issue on: Smart Convergence Technology for the Internet of Things
Topics/Call fo Papers
Over the past couple of decades, the rapid growth of information technology (IT) has changed the lives of people around the world, becoming more pervasive, more accessible, and more relevant. In recent years, the needs for new progressive technologies, able to overcome the technical problems that occur in various industries, are leading to a new paradigm known as smart convergence, which means the coming together of heterogeneous technologies and information technology.
This special issue tends to tackle the technological trend of IoT, especially from perspective of approaches and solutions for the integration of various IoT services. High quality and state‐of‐the‐art ideas and results are welcome. In particular, the special issue is going to discuss issues, approaches, and solutions to (towards) potential convergence of various IoT services, including big data, cloud computing, and security issues. Original and research articles are solicited in all aspects of including theoretical studies, practical applications, new technology, and experimental prototypes. All submitted papers will be peer‐reviewed and selected on the basis of both their quality and their relevance to the theme of this special issue.
We invite investigators to contribute original research papers and review articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts to study and analyze the intrinsic issues of satellite environment. This special issue aims to publish high quality research and development results of broadband satellite communications and multimedia traffic technologies. The research and development results related to satellite technologies are welcome.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
? Approaches and solutions for the integration of various IoT services
? Network architecture and system design for smart convergence in IoT
? Integration with existing standards and protocols for IoT services
? Mobility management/data management for smart convergence in IoT
? Machine-to-machine (M2M) communications for smart convergence in IoT
? Energy efficient management and sustainable operation of IoT/M2M objects
? Social networking for IoT services
? Privacy, security, and trust for IoT services
? Modeling and simulation of large-scale IoT scenarios
? Testbed, prototype, and practical systems for IoT use cases (smart home/smart car/smart hospital/smart factory, and so on.)
