Bigdata 2016 - Special Issue on “Cloud Computing and Big Data: Applications, Systems and Perspective”
Topics/Call fo Papers
Analysis of big data through sophisticated algorithms and the computing infrastructure made available through cloud computing is transforming information technology today. On one hand, many novel applications are emerging in this area to effectively utilize massive and complex data, and to unlock their value. On the other hand, cloud and big data applications drive the evolution of computing systems, exploiting parallelism of current and upcoming computer architectures, programming models and data-driven methodology, as well as engineering issues for implementation and deployment of various big data and/or cloud computing systems. Currently, big data and cloud computing are emerging research fields that have recently drawn much attention and interest from the broad computing disciplines as well as from other application areas. With these recent developments, industry and academia are already looking into the next-generation of big data and cloud computing techniques. This special issue is intended to foster state-of-the-art research in the area of big data and cloud computing technologies including the topics of novel applications and systems, as well as perspectives on thefuture of big data and cloud computing.
This special issue welcomes submissions of papers that describe original research on advancement of big data and cloud computing, including, but not limiting to:
- Interplay between cloud computing and big data
- Perspectives on next-generation cloud computing and big data systems and applications (e.g., Cloud 2.0)
- Software, tools and systems for big data and cloud computing
- Algorithmic, experimental, prototyping and implementation
- Data-driven innovation, computational modeling and data integration
- Computing, scheduling and resource management for cloud computing
- Machine learning algorithms for big data and cloud computing
- Cloud infrastructures and systems for big data
- Performance measurement, analytical modeling and simulation
- Big data and cloud computing applications (healthcare, medicine, finance, business, law, education, transportation, telecommunication, science, engineering, ecosystem, etc.)
