IWCE 2011 - International Wireless Communication Expo IWCE 2011
Topics/Call fo Papers
Year after year, public safety professionals, enterprise users, wireless service providers, IT professionals and dealers come to IWCE to learn about all aspects of convergent communications. IWCE’s content provides you with the tools you need to become more efficient, work faster and more profitably and to stay ahead of the competition.
From Land Mobile Radio…to Wireless Mobility…Voice…Video…Data…and everything
in-between…Communications Technology is Evolving…and so is IWCE.
College of Technology at IWCE
Monday, March 7 & Tuesday, March 8
The College of Technology offers basic level courses for IT professionals and others new to the wireless world, as well as advanced technical training for engineers in the convergent communications community.
Technology Overviews and Wireless Principles
Technology Overviews and Wireless Principles on Monday and Tuesday provide a good foundation for everything you need to know, with basic, ground-level education on everything from spectrum and licensing, a basic land mobile overview, narrowbanding 101, infrastructure and towers to satellites, P25, radio over IP and 4G networks. Learn the terminology and broad concepts that will be addressed in more detail over the next three days of the IWCE Conference.
Technical Tutorials
Technical Tutorials are for engineers, managers and supervisors. These advanced courses on wireless backhaul, network design and advanced wireless engineering provide in-depth training, technical reviews and real-world implementation.
The 2010 Conference also featured a pre-event Two-Day Training class on Radio Site Engineering, IEEE Exam Preparation Course and ETA Certification Testing.
Core Conference Program
Wednesday, March 9 ? Friday, March 11
Wednesday through Friday, IWCE offers sessions on Mobile Voice and Data Communications; Networks, Infrastructure and Systems; Interoperability; Spectrum Utilization and Emerging Technologies. In addition, the conference includes special interest sessions with discussions related to particular industries like utilities, transportation and manufacturing as well as to specific issues, like grant writing and procurement. And, as always, IWCE is on the cutting edge of regulatory and policy discussions, with presentations from industry leaders and associations in the thick of the policy issues. Topics include:
■ Narrowbanding
■ 700 MHz Broadband
■ LTE and other 4G Networks
■ Project 25
■ Video Surveillance
■ Commercial versus Private Wireless
■ Distributed Antenna Systems
■ Security and Authentication
■ Next Generation Wireless Broadband Architectures
■ SDR and Intelligent Radio
■ Grant Writing and Sourcing
In addition to the conference program, IWCE offers other important special events, including Keynote Addresses, free general sessions, a Lunch and Learn, and workshops on "New Technologies for Dealers" and "TETRA in the US." Information will be posted on the Special Events page when it becomes available.
