The International Conference on Geographies of Health and Living in Cities: Making Cities Healthy for All (H-City) will be held on 21 - 24 June 2016 in Hong Kong. The theme of the conference is about spatial and placed-based issues in the context of health, well-being, quality of life, climate and environmental health research.
The conference is jointly organized by the Department of Geography, Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Hong Kong, HKU GIS Research Centre, Hong Kong Geographical Information Systems Association, Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Climate System Science, and the International Geospatial Health Research Network. Professor Poh-Chin Lai of the Department of Geography is the General Chair of the conference.
This academic conference will bring together scholars and researchers from overseas and across a spectrum of disciplines (geography, public health, urban planning, sociology, social work, public policy, informatics) to share cutting-edge research, experiences, perspectives, and the latest GIScience and spatial technological developments (mobile health applications, exposure measuring instruments) in healthcare and wellbeing surveillance.
The Conference will focus on four core themes, namely "Sustainability", "Nature in City", "Health and Well-being", and "Spatial Technology". Renowned speakers from overseas and local government will be invited to share their views from both the regional and the global perspectives.
We are now calling for abstracts and papers. Abstract submission deadline is 10 Jan 2016 and acceptance of abstracts will be notified by 20 Feb 2016. Authors of accepted poster or paper presentation are invited to submit conference papers for publication in Procedia Environmental Sciences under Elsevier.
