Dear Colleagues,

we are glad to announce the organization of 2011 IFSA World Congress and the 2011 AFSS International Conference (2011 IFSA-AFSS).

IFSA (International Fuzzy Systems Association) is a non-profit organization established in 1995. The association functions primarily as a federation to promote the scientific study of, to encourage communication in, and to promote worldwide knowledge of the theory of fuzzy systems and related areas, as well as their applications. Since its establishment, IFSA has actively organized international conferences, and presently also published the International Journal of Fuzzy Sets and Systems as well as nomination of IFSA Award.

The 2011 IFSA-AFSS will be held in Surabaya and Bali Island, Indonesia, the best Asia Pacific tourism destination. As a premier international congress in the areas of Fuzzy Sets and Soft Computing, this event will bring together scientists, engineers and practitioners working in Fuzzy Logic and related areas to present their research. The conference provides a platform for the exchange of ideas and technical interaction.

1. Scope

The topics cover all aspects of Fuzzy Systems and their applications including, but not limited to
- fuzzy sets and fuzzy logic
- mathematical foundations of fuzzy systems
- approximate reasoning and soft computing
- fuzzy decision making, optimization, and design
- fuzzy system architectures and hardware
- fuzzy methods in statistics and imprecise probability
- fuzzy information retrieval
- fuzzy pattern recognition and image processing
- fuzzy sets in management science
- fuzzy control and robotics
- possibility theory
- fuzzy preference modeling
- fuzzy decision analysis
