The Mass Media & Communication Unit of ATINER organizes a Stream on “Media Manipulation”, 14-17 May 2018, Athens, Greece as part of the 16th Annual International Conference on Communication and Mass Media sponsored by the Athens Journal of Mass Media and Communications.
The aim of the stream is to bring together academics and researchers of Communications, Mass Media and other related disciplines. By accepting the attitudes imposed by the media, man renounces the personal freedom and the right to know the truth. The absolute defense of the media is not possible, but media literacy can help mitigate the negative effects of the media and their deception and to influence better understanding of the anatomy and the mechanics of the media manipulation. You may participate as presenter of one paper, chair or/and organizer of a session, or observer.
Fee structure information is available on https://www.atiner.gr/2018fees.
Special arrangements will be made with a local hotel for a limited number of rooms at a special conference rate. In addition, a number of special events will be organized: A pragmatic symposium (as organized in Ancient Athens but fine tuned to synchronous ethics), a special one-day educational island tour, a Mycanae and island of Poros visit, an Athens educational walking tour, an one-day visit to Delphi and an ancient Corinth and Cape Sounion visit. Details of the social program are available here.
Please submit a 300-word abstract before 2 April 2018, by email, to atiner-AT-atiner.gr, Dr. Vesna Baltezarevic, PhD in Law and President Alma Mater Europaea of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, Serbia.
