The Multimedia conference will be structured along the 14 major tracks covering different aspects related to Multimedia tools and Applications, Multimedia Communication and Networking, Multimedia Signal Processing, Multimedia systems and Applications including Mobile Multimedia, Multimedia and Vision, Advances in Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks and Latest research and developments In Multimedia.
We welcome papers describing advanced prototypes, systems, tools and techniques as well as general survey papers indicating future directions are also encouraged. The papers will be reviewed by the Technical Committee on the basis of originality, quality, and relevance to the conference themes. The conference program will include both oral and poster presentations
Content Analysis and Processing
Multimedia content analysis tools used to derive higher-level semantics from low-level audio and video features and cover the state of the art in temporal video segmentation using unsupervised and supervised techniques. Content analysis has known an increasing use to deeply analyses and understands media content and media logic. Content analysis can involve any kind of analysis where communication content i.e. speech, music, 3D written text images is categorized and classified.
Imaging and Image processing
Image processing is a method to convert an image into digital form and perform some operations on it, in order to get an enhanced image or to extract some useful information from it. It covers the areas like still-image coding, Stereoscopic and 3-D coding, Image segmentation, Medical Imaging, Image scanning, display, and printing etc.
Multimedia tools and Applications
A Multimedia Application is an Application which uses a different multiple media sources e.g. text, graphics, images, sound/audio, animation and/or video. Multimedia Tools and Applications cover selected tools applied in multimedia systems and key multimedia applications. It comprises of Audio, video processing, Virtual reality and 3-D imaging, Virtual reality and 3-D imaging, Multimedia and Artificial Intelligence
Multimedia Communication and Networking
Integrated and interactive presentation of Images, speech, audio, video, graphics and text, has become a major theme in today’s information technology that merges the practices of communications, computing and information processing into interdisciplinary fields. The challenge of multimedia communications is to provide services that integrate text, sound, image and video information and to do it in a way that preserves the case of use and interactivity. It deals with how the image/video transmits over wireless networks, Implementation of Multimedia Sensor Networks, Broadband Multimedia Satellite Systems, and Vehicular Networks
Multimedia Signal Processing
Multimedia Signal Processing is a comprehensive and accessible text to the theory and applications of digital signal processing (DSP). The applications of DSP are pervasive and include Image processing video processing, image/video compression Biometrics, Pattern Recognition, Speech/audio recognition and processing. Generally Multimedia signal processing is used in developing algorithms and techniques for representation, dissemination, processing, understanding, storage, and retrieval of multimedia data.
Multimedia systems and Applications
A Multimedia System is a system capable of processing multimedia data and applications. Multimedia conferences deals with Multimedia information encoding and data interchange formats such as 3D Virtual Environments and Surveillance Applications, Audio and Video Quality Assessment, Authentication and Watermarking, Biomedical Applications, Multimedia Databases, Indexing, Recognition and Retrieval
Multimedia and Human - Computer Interaction
Multimedia and Human - Computer Interaction aims to provide substantial practical experience of using specialized interface development tools, processing audio and image files, and developing multimedia applications. It addresses a number of research topics like Animation and Graphics, Grahpical User Interface, Multimedia Design, Computer-Based Learning.
Mobile Multimedia
Mobile Multimedia has become an integral part of our lives. A vast variety of multimedia services like voice, email, instant messaging, social networks, mobile payment and transactions, mobile video conferencing, or video and audio streaming has already shaped the expectations towards current mobile devices, infrastructure, and services. It deals with Peer-to-peer mobile media, Low-power and power-aware media coding and multimedia applications, Wireless and Mobile Communications and Networks, Mobile Internet and its Multimedia Applications.
Multimedia and Vision
Computer vision and multimedia area has growth rapidly during the past decade, since there is an increasing need for semantically understanding the content of image and video data from the prevailing images and videos sharing communities such as Flickr, YouTube, etc. However, the performance of vision and multimedia understanding system is heavily dependent on the choice of data representation. The output of computer vision is a description or an interpretation or some quantitative measurements of the structures in the 3D scene, video coding and streaming in support of vision applications, Vision-directed compression.
Music, Speech and Audio Processing in Multimedia
Speech is inarguably the most preferred and natural way of communication for humans. Speech is transmitted from a speaker to a listener in the form of an acoustic signal. The signal carries abundant information, including the linguistic content, the speaker’s voice characteristic, health and emotional conditions, and the ambient environment. Speech signals have many distinctive features that are not found in other signals from the natural world. Musical signal processing has a wide range of applications including; digital compression and coding of music for efficient storage and transmission on mobile phones and portable music players, modeling and reproduction of the acoustics of music instruments and music halls, digital music synthesizers, digital audio editors, digital audio mixers, spatial temporal sound effects for home entertainment and cinemas, music content classification and indexing and music search engines for Internet.
Multimedia Health Computation and its Applications
Recent years have witnessed the revolutionary changes brought about by the development of multimedia technologies. These changes can advance many disciplines and industries, and health is no exception. The remarkable changes in healthcare also brought many research opportunities in a broad spectrum of application domains, such as health data quality assessment, cross-source learning for better lifestyles, personalized health with sensor data, and health data visualization.
Advances in Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks
Wireless Sensor networks (WSNs) have become one of the most interesting areas of research in the past few years. A WSN is composed of a number of wireless sensor nodes which form a sensor field and a sink. These large numbers of nodes, having the abilities to sense their surroundings, perform limited computation and communicate wirelessly form the WSNs. Recent Advances in Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks are Network and System Architecture, Resource Allocation and Management. Network Bandwidth Analysis, Multimedia in-network processing, Sensor Networks for the Smart Grid.
Latest research and developments in Multimedia
Multimedia and networking technologies have significantly impacted on our daily activities. Interactive multimedia environments have the vision of enhancing our everyday environment and interaction through sensing, computing, and communication capabilities. Latest research and development in multimedia are Indexing of Large-Scale Multimedia Signals, Multimedia and Big Data, Multimedia Applications in Cloud Computing, Secure Multimedia Transmission, Secure Multi-party Computation for Big Multimedia.
