SIP 2015 - Studies in People's History
Topics/Call fo Papers
Call for Papers
Papers are invited for publication in Studies in People’s History (SIP).
SIP embraces all aspects of History under the broadest of definitions, but always bearing in mind their relationship with society at large. Papers on the history of classes, and other social groups, and gender history, and the National Movement would especially welcome. The journal covers all periods of Indian history and pre history (that is, the entire past of present‐day South Asian nations plus Afghanistan), but also include papers on other countries, especially such as may be concerned with world‐wide movements that also affected India (for example, language shifts, technology transfers, feudalism, capitalism, colonialism, genesis of modern ideas) or with comparative history (in for example, spheres of political structures, forms of thought, trends in art). The journal could include surveys of work done on particular fields, reports or commentaries on textual sources including inscriptions, and archival documents.
SIP is a peer‐reviewed journal.
Articles and any other textual matter for publication in SIP should be sent electronically in MS Word format, to ahs2010-AT-gmail.com or Shireen.moosvi-AT-gmail.com. Generally, the minimum period for the publication of a paper after its receipt by us is eight months, since refereeing and editing processes take time.
There will also be some special issues devoted to articular themes. Volume 3 Issue 1 of SIP, due to appear in June 2016, for example, will be devoted to ‘Forms of Inequality in Indian history,’ papers for which should reach us by the end of August 2015 at the latest, but earlier the better!
