The 9th Australasian Workshop on Health Informatics and Knowledge Management (HIKM 2016) will be held at the Australian National University, Canberra, 2-5 February 2016.
HIKM is an established forum for academic research held annually as part of Australasian Computer Science Week. The co-chairs for 2016 are Anthony Maeder, UWS and Trish Williams, ECU.
Submission of papers presenting original unpublished work should address current research topics in health informatics and knowledge management, including:
biomedical devices, physiological signals and imaging data processing / analysis / interpretation
clinical decision support systems and diagnosis or treatment guidelines
computational biotechnology and bioinformatics
conceptual models and architectures for health information systems
electronic health records and personal health records
evaluation and standardisation in health data and clinical applications
health consumer information systems, web portals, health information resources and directories
health data coding, terminologies, ontologies, messaging protocols and sustems interoperability
health data minging and dataset visualisation
health databases and repositories, and health data integration / linking
health informatics education
health information management, annotation, retrieval and analysis
health knowledge discovery, representation and application
health workflow management, business process engineering
improving the use and quality of health data collections and registries
modelling spatial / temporal / biological data for health purposes
patient journey analysis and modelling, care plan management, new models of care
privacy / security issues for health data and systems
public and population health data analysis, prediction and surveillance
systems for integrated or coordinated care and sharing of patient data
telemedicine and remote health care services
