RTIR 2016 - SPECIAL SESSION ON “RECENT TRENDS IN INFORMATION RETRIEVAL”

World Wide Web (W3) is growing exponentially since last two decades. It is flooded with
billons of unstructured documents. Still it’s a very difficult to extract the relevant data from such
a huge and unstructured documents scattered on millions of web server across the world on W3.
Information retrieval (IR) is an emerging field which helps to extract the required relevant data
from it. There are many recent remarkable developments in the area of information retrieval (IR)
which indicates that the impact of growth of IR techniques will be felt progressively more in
coming years. This special session will serve as a platform that fosters new research and
applications for all academicians, scientists and engineers engaged in research and development
in this fast growing field.
