Topics/Call fo Papers
The First International Workshop on Engineering a Sustainable City (EASC'10)
(November 10-12, 2010, Shanghai, China, in conjunction with ICEBE 2010)
Cities cover less than 1% of the earth's surface but in which reside more than 50% of the world's population. To build sustainable cities is a crucial responsibility for human society to respond to climate change and environmental crisis and it as well provides huge business opportunities where information technology can play an important role.
The international workshop on Engineering a Sustainable City (EASC) is to provide a prestigious forum of exchanging latest findings and experiences of e-business relevant issues related to the design, development and improvement of cities with the principles of economic, social, and ecological sustainability. The workshop will cover the theories, engineering and technological progressions in sustainable city development research and practices in adopting innovative technologies of information analytics, modeling and optimization for sustainable city development.
The workshop solicits paper submissions in a wide range of related topics, including, but not limited to, the following:
* Theories, metrics, principles of sustainable cities
* Sustainable city design, layout and planning
* Resilience and risk management
* Dynamic capture and assimilation of data for prediction & response
* Interconnected and interdependent models optimize sustainable city solutions
* Simulation and optimization of complex city systems
* Green practices in fundamental city systems such as water, energy, traffic, buildings, waste, etc.
* Individual and community behaviors in a sustainable city
* Emerging business models and practices driven by sustainable city development
* Standards, regulations, and legal issues
Papers must be submitted electronically. Please submit papers through the following Paper Submission Link:
