IWSNSC 2015 - International Workshop on Social Networks and Social Computing IWSNSC 2015
Topics/Call fo Papers
Full research papers should contain original research contribution ideally accompanied with their validation and/or evidence of use in practice (max. 10 pages). Short research papers can include late breaking results presenting a description of new ideas and concepts of preliminary results and/or ongoing efforts with at least partial validation (max. 6 pages).
PAPER SUBMISSION
Submissions should be made electronically in PDF or DOC/DOCX (MS/Open Word) format. All papers should describe original results that have not been accepted or submitted for publication elsewhere. Submissions must conform to IEEE format and should not exceed 10 pages, including all text, figures, references and appendices. Submissions not conforming to the IEEE format, exceeding 10 pages, or being obviously out of the scope of the workshop, will be rejected without review. Information about the IEEE Template can be found at IEEE - Manuscript Templates for Conference Proceedings
Three to five keywords characterizing the paper should be indicated at the end of the abstract. The type of paper (technical/empirical evaluation/experience/exploratory paper) should be indicated in the submission via the electronic submission system of the IWSNSC 2015 Conference Management system at: https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=IWSNSC 2015
or sending the manuscript to: aalomary-AT-uob.edu.bh
PUBLICATION
Accepted papers will be presented at the IWSNSC'15 workshop and published in the conference workshops proceedings, which is published in the IEEE xplore Digital Library.
PURPOSE OF WORKSHOP
Online social networks are growing rapidly. Besides their social characteristics these networks have their own a big impact on society, education youth and business. Techniques of information intelligence, retrieval, databases, preference modeling, graph theory, etc. are integrated there and adapted into dynamic environment with high scalability. International Workshop on Social Networks and social Computing will be focused on the foundations of social networks as well as case studies, empirical, and other methodological works related to the computational tools for the automatic discovery of Web-based social networks.
This workshop provides an opportunity to researcher to exchange their views, ideas and experiences in the area of social networks.
The main topics cover the impact of social networks and use of various computational intelligence tools and software, simulations of social networks, representation and analysis of social networks, use of semantic networks in the design and community-based research issues such as knowledge discovery, privacy and protection, and visualization.
WORKSHOP TOPICS
Recommended topics include but are not limited to the following:
- Impact of social networks on education
- Impact of social networks on Society
- Impact of social networks on Youth
- Impact of social networks on Business
- Social networks and social intelligence
- Security, privacy and trust computational analysis of social networks
- Web-based cooperative work
- Knowledge community formation and support
- Intelligent wireless Web
- Social network analysis and mining of communities of practice
- Network evolution and growth mechanisms
- Information diffusion and knowledge transfer in social networks
- Online communities and computer networks
