ICN 2017 - 21st IUNS-ICN Congress of Nutrition

21st IUNS-ICN Congress of Nutrition which will take place in Buenos Aires in October, 2017.
The Sociedad Argentina de Nutrición (SAN), founded in 1941 by the pioneer nutritionist Professor Pedro Escudero, will be responsible for the organisation and we intend to collaborate with other countries of Latin America. The Sociedad Argentina de Nutrición (SAN) has organised many national congresses: every two years we organise one in a different part of the country with 3,000 delegates. We also carry out joint activities with other scientific related societies such as the Argentinean Diabetes Society, the Argentinean Obesity and Eating Disorders Society and the Argentinean Society for Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition. Moreover, for 10 years we have been working together with Nutrition Societies of the Southern Cone, Brazil, Bolivia, Uruguay and Chile in relation with Nutrition Quality Education in medical schools.
Our country covers many different climates and landscapes, from the snow-capped mountains of the Andes to the beaches of the oceanic coast, from the Iguazú waterfalls to the glacials in the south. The city of Buenos Aires is the capital and it is considered as one of the most beautiful ones in Latin America with modern architecture in Puerto Madero and traditional houses of European architecture from the past century. It offers a wide range of cultural scenarios such as museums and theatres like Colon Theatre which offers a large capacity and well-known acoustics in the Classical music world. We have many more theatres in the city, 200 rooms, being able to offer premieres of national and international plays and musical comedies. There are also many nearby landmarks with breath-taking landscapes to enjoy such as the Paraná river delta, and stays which will allow you to live experiences of rural Argentina.

The Congress will take place during the month of October since it is the most stable of Spring and the most beautiful to enjoy the city. The scientific programme will develop during 5 days and it will be focused on the motto we have chosen; that is, from science to nutrition security.
