A smart city uses Information Technology to enhance performance and well being, to reduce costs and resource consumption, and to engage more effectively and actively with its citizens. There are world-wide interest in Smart Cities. Also, while Govt. of India announced around 100 smart cities to be developed in future. The European Union (EU) has devoted constant efforts to devise a strategy for achieving 'smart' urban growth for its metropolitan city-regions and as the intricacies, especially in view of I.T. innovations are higher.
The broad areas covered (but not limited to) will be Automation and Embedded Software Engineering, IoT (Internet of Things), Cloud Computing, Service Oriented Architectures, Wireless Sensor Networks, Predictive mechanisms and Recommender Systems, Big Data Analytics, Inclusive Technologies.
The proposed symposium cum workshop aims at exploring related issues with workshop aimed at:
a) FIT platform for IoT experimentations at large scale- Hands-on (Dr. Nathalie Mitton)
b) Android Development for Smart Environment
