All of us in the Department of Research & Evaluation at Kaiser Permanente Southern California are looking forward to showing you a great week in Long Beach, as the hosts of the 2015 HMO Research Network Conference. The 21st annual conference is scheduled for March 11-13, 2015, and will offer opportunities to interact and share your knowledge and ideas with peers from around the country, and create new collaborations and partnerships to further your own research.
Our theme for 2015 is “Care Improvement Research: Partnering with Patients, Providers and Operational Leaders.” We selected this theme based on feedback from our fellow HMORN members, in keeping with the visions of the network, and Kaiser Permanente, as the host member organization. We will be featuring groundbreaking examples of care improvement research from scientists and research administrators representing HMORN member organizations from throughout the United States. In addition, we welcome abstracts from researchers outside of HMORN with an interest in care improvement. Topics of special interest at the conference will include rapid-cycle learning, comparative effectiveness research, delivery system innovations, and the efficient dissemination and uptake of research findings into clinical practice.
Our goals for the conference include facilitating collaborations within and outside the network, and discussing research methods and ideas for care improvement. Presenting models of research-operations partnerships will be especially topical, as will the role of research in improving quality and affordability, how to integrate research and clinical care more seamlessly, and the implications of health care reform for research in integrated settings and accountable care organizations.
It’s sure to be a full program that we’re confident will benefit our members and others within the scientific community, and draw attendees from throughout Southern California and the nation to our waterfront venue in Long Beach.
We look forward to seeing you there.
