LTE 2010 - The LTE Forum 2010
Topics/Call fo Papers
In 2010 there is no better place to go than Stockholm ? home of the first commercial LTE Network worldwide !
About the LTE Forum 2010
The wireless business is undergoing a major shift from voice-driven to data-driven services. Studies indicate that data revenue has grown by more than 30% per year, whereas the voice revenue grew by just 4%.
When mobile phones became popular, the 2G cellular networks they utilized did not provide enough bandwidth for the use of data-heavy applications. The wireless industry responded with 3G technologies to give greater bandwidth to enable more services, applications and wireless devices. The use of data boosted with 3G.
Today, in response to meet the requirements for more bandwidth and richer applications, the mobile industry is responding with an exponentially faster 4G technology, so called Long Term Evolution (LTE) ? an output of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP).
The LTE Forum 2010 will help operators to identify the evolutionary steps to 4G LTE, to understand the drivers for migrating, and to determine what they need to be doing now to ensure their network remains competitive.
Presentations from mobile operators, analysts, regulators and other industry experts will help delegates to understand why, when and how to migrate to 4G LTE, and what they should be doing now to ensure their networks remain competitive into the future.
The special focus of this conference is on:
The LTE Business environment
LTE Deployment, the infrastructure supplier’s perspective
LTE Business Models
LTE Performance Expectations
About LTE
4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) describes the evolution of mobile technology that will deliver users the benefits of faster data speeds and new services by creating a new radio access technology that's optimized for IP-based traffic and offers operators a simple upgrade path from 3G networks. Alongside LTE is work on the evolutionary development of the core architecture of mobile networks, called system architecture evolution (SAE).
Together, they will offer operators networks with significant performance enhancements over 3G, with a target of two to four times the spectral efficiency of 3G/HSPA networks. This means LTE networks will be able to squeeze more bits of data into the same amount of spectrum as 3G and HSPA networks, translating into increased data speeds and/or increased capacity.
LTE will ensure the competitiveness of 4G for the next 10 years and beyond, and provide a high-data-rate, low-latency packet-optimized system.
LTE will be used for mobile, fixed and portable wireless broadband access, and will offer a number of benefits to operators, aimed at increasing capacity, reducing network complexity and thus lowering deployment and operational costs. It will enable operators to meet the growing demand for mobile data solutions, making it possible for richer services to be delivered to consumers more cost effectively.
