ARCHTHEO 2014 - Theory of Architecture Symposium
Topics/Call fo Papers
The first of the theory of architecture conference series ARCHTHEO has been held in 2011 at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University focusing on the possibility of the theory without the backing of the practice or built environment. The title was, therefore, "Theory for the Sake of the Theory" in an emphatic fashion. In 2012, the discussion centered on the Living and space, the main has been chosen as "House&Home' in particular. Last year's event focused on the two leading roles in architecture, the architect and the so-called 'user' and 'Creativity, Autonomy and Function' has proved to be fruitful discussion theme.
Since 2011, a total of 245 presentations by scholars from different places of the world has been hosted by ARCHTHEO Conferences and three proceedings and a book of selected papers has been published.
VI. of the ARCHTHEO Conference Series will concentrate on the relationship of 'Architecture and Text' as an internal part of architectural theory.
Texts, criticism, historiography, fictional spaces, case studies and multidisciplinary studies are going to be the focus points of the conference. ARCHTHEO '14 will be held on November 6-8, 2014 at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University.
Equal consideration will be given to papers from any topic listed in the "THEMES" page.
All talks will be given 15 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for questions. Abstracts will also be considered for a poster session and for virtual presentations.
Abstracts should be around 300-500 words, with one extra page allowed for images, data, and/or references. Abstracts should be submitted via EasyChair with no identifying information of the presenter in the document. Invitation letters for the conference will be sent to authors upon evaluation of the submitted abstracts, which should take two weeks after the noted deadline for the abstract submission
Please upload your full paper (UPON ACCEPTANCE OF YOUR ABSTRACT) using online submission Easy Chair.
