The RIT School of Media Sciences’ Cross-Media Innovation Center (CMIC) is seeking position papers and original research for presentation at the annual CMIC Summit 2014 held in Rochester, NY, October 15-16, 2014.
The RIT - CMIC Summit 2014 focuses on the processes and practices that innovate, transform and connect publishing, transactional, promotional and functional print market segments. The CMIC mission promotes the intersection between business strategies and the production variables of print (traditional, digital and functional), Web, mobile and social media.
Specific areas of interest for this year’s CMIC Summit 2014 include:
? Business Strategy: Media Mix, Message, Audience, Metrics, Intent, User Requirements, Cost-ROI
? Content: Content Types, Tools, Standards, Metadata, Editing, Asset Management, Rights Management, Analytics
? Production: Technologies, Workflow, Automation, Standards, Materials, Process and Control, Production Tools, Sustainability
? Deployment: Channel, Fulfillment, Data Collection, Content Evaluation, User Experience, Closed-Loop Analysis
Submissions from industry practitioners (e.g., graphic service providers and system service providers - hardware and software), scholars, educators, and university students are encouraged.
Selected participants will deliver a 30 minutes presentation of their topic at the CMIC Summit 2014 in October. Formal papers will not be required for this event.
Please submit a 250-500 word abstract of your proposed presentation (MS Word) to Liz Dopp at eadppr-AT-rit.edu by May, 15 2014.
Presentations will be published on CMIC web site and made available to CMIC members.
