EMAP 2014 - Energy Market Prediction Symposium
Topics/Call fo Papers
Sustainability has become an important social issue and, as a result, one of the high-profile research subjects. In the context of the energy market in particular, renewable energy has reached increasing prominence with the numerous incentive programs around the US and the rest of the world aiming to stimulate sustainable energy adoption.
Market penetration of renewable energy technology entails two interrelated aspects: technical advances, which drive down the costs and improve efficiency and effectiveness of the technologies, and market penetration, which is driven by both technical and social considerations, including framing/messaging effects, as well as peer effects.
This symposium aims to bring together researchers from diverse disciplines, all focused on both the technical and the social side of market penetration. The primary focus is on computational methods that impact both these market aspects, as it pertains to predicting future market dynamics. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Computational approaches to marketing clean energy technologies
Analysis of factors that influence consumer adoption
Novel models that predict consumer adoption
Investigations of peer/network effects, and marketing approaches that leverage peer effects
Resilient deployment of renewable energy technologies on the electric power grid
Resource forecasting models.
