The NICSO workshop aims to foster a deeper investigation and a vigorous exchange of ideas about emerging research areas on problem solving strategies where nature plays a key role as source of inspiration. The aim of this special issue is to reflect the most recent advances in the field. Topics of interests include (but are not limited to):
- Adaptive Behaviour
- Ants Colonies
- Amorphous Computing
- Artificial Life
- Artificial Immune Systems
- Bioinformatics
- Bio-inspired architecture
- Biological and Chemical IT
- Complex Systems
- Distributed Computing
- Evolutionary Robotics
- Evolvable Systems
- Games and Game Theory
- Genetic Algorithms
- Genetic Programming
- Hyperheuristics
- Membrane Computing
- Memetic Algorithms
- Quantum Computing
- Software Self-Assembly
- Systems Biology
- Systems Co-evolution
