Liverpool John Moores University, United Kingdom, is pleased to announce that the 8th International Conference on Sensing Technology (ICST 2014) will be held on September 2-4, in the newly constructed Liverpool Art and Design Academy Building. This year the conference is hosted by the Built Environment and Sustainable Technologies (BEST) Research Institute, with organisation being led by Dr Alex Mason, Reader in Smart Technologies.

ICST 2014 is intended to provide a common forum for researchers, scientists, engineers and practitioners throughout the world to present their latest research findings, ideas, developments and applications in the area of sensing technology. Themes for the conference include, but are not limited to, the following:
Sensing phenomena, modelling and evaluation
Chemical and gas sensors
Electronic nose and tongue
Biosensors
Optical sensors
Mechanical and physical sensors
Sensor networks
Related sensor topics - Materials, signal conditioning, interfaces, etc.
