Topics/Call fo Papers
Scope and Topics
The 2nd International Workshop on IPTV Technologies and Multidisciplinary Applications (IWITMA 2010) will be a one-day event focusing on recent advances in IPTV technology and applications. IWITMA 2010 will be held in conjunction with the IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo (ICME 2010) in order to profit from the attendance at IEEE ICME as well as providing this group with recents advances in video that will impact the networks of the future. The workshop will present innovative technical papers on all aspects of IPTV and converged applications delivery as well as on novel approaches video transmission and network architectures for video. In addition to these papers the workshop intends to have ample time for discussion amongst participants on topics randing from industry trends to actual and future implementation.
The workshop seeks innovative technical papers on all aspects of IPTV in multimedia broadcasting, including architectural standardization, content protection, quality of service and quality of experience, middleware, etc.
The following IPTV related topics are included as to attract attendance from both academia and industry:
Architectures for IPTV systems especially those targeting multiscreens and combining mobility
IPTV Service deployments, interactivity, Social TV, datacasting
IPTV QoS issues (including performance, traffic management and monitoring, etc.)
IPTV user experience and user experience design
Video Content Distribution Networks for distributed IPTV services
Mobile IPTV (system deployment, mobile extension considerations, etc.)
Transmission aspects including video compression and network coding
