ISSS-7 is the 7th in a series of international symposia organized by The Surface Science Society of Japan. This symposium highlights recent achievements in surface and interfacial science, and related fields. Major topics include the structure, electronic states, and dynamic processes of a wide range of surfaces and interfaces, novel instrumentation and methodological development, and applications of surface science to green technologies leading renewable energy for sustainable growth. Interdisciplinary studies and discussion on the future directions of the fields are strongly encouraged.
Venue
The Shimane prefecture is one of Japanese mythological areas. The God “Susanoo-no-mikoto” conquered a serpent with 8 big heads and long tails in Japanese mythology. A bell-shaped bronze vessel relic, Dotaku, is supposed to have been put to some ceremonial use. A comma-shaped stone bead, Magatama, was used as ornamental necklaces in ancient times. At the beginning of the 17th century, a feudal lord built a formidable castle on the banks of Lake Shinji. The sun begins to set, and exquisite colors of tinting appear in the water and sky of Lake Shinji. The author Lafcadio Hearn described the beauty of Matsue and Lake Shinji, blessed with an abundance of beautiful natural scenery. Facing onto the relaxed atmosphere and appearance, Matsue has a calming influence on residents and visitors alike.
Shimane Prefectural Convention Center Matsue, Shimane, Japan
