Topics/Call fo Papers

SEIA is an internal workshop. The contributions are solicited from the ABB research community and the R&D centers of ABB business units. The workshop will use presentations from experts and from the authors of accepted papers. The idea behind research presentation is to provide an opportunity for an informal discussion on one’s research work. This is very useful to convey the ideas that are not yet fully developed and to get early feedback to improve one's work with suggestions from the experts.
Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
Testing and debugging methods for industrial applications developed using IEC61131-3 languages.
Tools and techniques for automated application engineering ? testing tools for IEC61131-3 languages, automation of functional testing, simulator based testing, reverse engineering tools, code conversion tools, and automated code generation.
Metrics for effort estimation and benchmarking of industrial applications, software development.
Commissioning ? recent trends in commissioning of industrial systems. Tools and technologies for field support, remote commissioning, case studies on efficient commissioning processes.
Migration of legacy industrial application ? challenges in migration. Tools and technologies to support reengineering of legacy industrial applications.
Improving efficiency of plant applications using special software packages (e.g., MIS, PIMS)
Library management for industrial automation projects.
Model driven development ? successful implementation of model driven development methodology for industrial applications.
Current best practices and future trends in automation engineering.
Using software to improve efficiency of power and electrical systems.
