The purpose of the RISES-2014, an Indian Conference on Software Engineering and Security organized by the special interest groups SIGSE and SIGIS of Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai is to bring together researchers, engineers and practitioners interested on information technology to present their research ideas, with a practical focus on software engineering, system security and other information technology based applications. The tracks are "Advances in Software Development", "Software security, privacy, safeness", "Advances in software testing and Quality Assurance", "Agile Software Techniques", "Distributed Systems and Information Security", and "Specialized System Security Applications". Software technologies are essential for developing any enterprise information system, encompassing a large number of research topics and applications: from programming ideas to the more abstract theoretical aspects of software engineering; from software security to mobile applications; distributed systems, ubiquity, software quality and other related topics are included in the scope of RISES.
