IFKAD 2014 - International Forum on Knowledge Asset Dynamics
9th edition on the theme of:
Knowledge and Management Models for Sustainable Growth
In the last years sustainability has become a topic of global concern and a key issue in the strategic agenda of both business organizations and public authorities and organisations.
Significant changes in business landscape, the emergence of new technology, including social media, the pressure of new social concerns, have called into question established conceptualizations of competitiveness, wealth creation and growth.
New and unaddressed set of issues regarding how private and public organisations manage and invest their resources to create sustainable value have brought to light. In particular the increasing focus on environmental and social themes has suggested new dimensions to be taken into account in the value creation dynamics, both at organisations and communities level.
For companies the need of integrating corporate social and environmental responsibility issues into strategy and daily business operations, pose profound challenges, which, in turn, involve numerous processes and complex decisions influenced by many stakeholders. Facing these challenges calls for the creation, use and exploitation of new knowledge as well as the development of proper management models, approaches and tools aimed to contribute to the development and realization of environmentally and socially sustainable business strategies and practices.
Embedding sustainability into strategy and policy is increasingly becoming crucial also for public authorities and organisations. The development paths of regional and urban systems, for example, need to be based more and more on principles such as environmental quality, self-sufficiency, proximity, inclusiveness, and equity.
The relevance of adopting a holistic approach to social, cultural, economic and environmental features in value creation dynamics, both at micro and macro level, raises questions about how researchers, executives, managers and policy makers can effectively integrate sustainability issues into strategy, processes and growth paths.
The management of the strategic knowledge value drivers as well as of the related knowledge management processes may support organizations and communities in developing strategies and practices inspired by sustainability. The aim of the 9th International Forum on Knowledge Asset Dynamics (IFKAD ? 2014) is to explore the relevance of knowledge and intellectual capital management for supporting organizations as well as regional and urban systems in their value creation dynamics according to a sustainable growth perspective.
This involves the understanding and development of approaches, models and tools for effectively managing key-knowledge value drivers to support the sustainable growth of organizations and communities. Particular attention will be paid on the role of the knowledge assets dynamics on the design and development of innovative models and interventions in order to provide solutions to problems at organizational, social and urban scale exploiting intangibles, skilled workforce, relationships, and advanced technologies.
The 9th IFKAD aims to bring together academicians, policy makers, practitioners and young researchers from different fields to provide an opportunity for discussion and debate regarding "Knowledge and management models for sustainable growth" from a wide range of perspectives ? economic, social, environmental and cultural.
The conference is also planned to provide postgraduate research and PhD students an invaluable opportunity to present, discuss and get feedback on their research projects from the international experts during the PhD Consortium.
