The International Conference on Smart Learning Environments (ICSLE 2014) aims to bring together researchers, practitioners, and policy makers to discuss issues related to the optimization of learning environments to enhance learning. The focus is on the interplay of pedagogy, technology and their fusion towards the advancement of smart learning environments. Various components of this interplay include but are not limited to:
* Pedagogy: learning paradigms, assessment paradigms, social factors, policy
* Technology: emerging technologies, innovative uses of mature technologies, adoption, usability, standards, and emerging/new technological paradigms (open educational resources, cloud computing, etc.)
* Fusion of pedagogy and technology: transformation of curriculum, transformation of teaching behavior, transformation of administration, best practices of infusion, piloting of new ideas
Topics of interest:
The scope of the ICSLE 2014 is focused on issues related to smart learning environments. Topics of interest considered to be within the scope of the conference include but are not limited to:
* Architectures for smart learning environments
* Best practices in smart learning environments implementation
* Conceptual frameworks for smart learning environments
* Cultural issues in smart learning environments
* Designing smart learning environments using sensing technologies
* Evaluation approaches for effectiveness and efficiency of smart learning environments
* Fusion of pedagogy and technology in smart learning environments
* Historical perspectives of smart learning environments
* Innovative uses of emerging didactical and pedagogical approaches
* Innovative uses of emerging and existing technologies
* Methodologies for development of smart learning environments
