MATEL 2013 - 4th International Workshop on Motivational and Affective Aspects (MATEL)

Motivational and affective aspects are at the crossroads of various disciplines involved in technology enhanced learning, and research is scattered among them. Their importance is increasingly recognized as a decisive factor for user acceptance and sustainable success of learning solutions, both at the workplace and in formal educational contexts. This workshop intends to continue to provide an interdisciplinary forum to bring together the various perspectives and to stimulate targeted research. It builds upon three successful editions at previous EC-TEL conferences and emphasizes the interactive exchange among participants. In addition to research contributions, demos, and position statements, we will have dedicated time slots for discussion and analysis of specific topics that are suggested and described by workshop participants beforehand.
