APCC 2013 - Tutorial on Azure Platform for Cloud Computing
Topics/Call fo Papers
Windows Azure, Microsoft's application platform for the public cloud, can be used in a number of ways. Some examples include: using Windows Azure to build a web application that runs and stores its data in Microsoft datacenters; to simply store data, with the applications that use this data running on-premises, outside the public cloud; and to create virtual machines for development and test, or to run SharePoint and other applications. Windows Azure can be used to build massively scalable applications with lots of users. Because the platform offers a wide range of services, all of these things and more are possible. This tutorial will introduce the key features of Windows Azure, teach how to provision, migrate and manage virtual machines, as well as offer an understanding of Windows Azure storage and database services.
